From September 18 to 22, Ensenada will host the inaugural edition of the “Lucerna Score Baja 400” race, which will replace the “Desert Challenge” race that in recent years had been held in Playas de Rosarito and Tijuana.
Mayor Marco Antonio Novelo Osuna reported that the sporting event includes a 400-mile route; the mechanical review, the finish, and the start will be in front of the Social, Civic and Cultural Center Riviera.
According to the entry list, more than 150 competitors will enter the race.
The municipal president informed that this race will determine the starting order of the next “Baja 1000” in November, which will attract around 250 competing teams from 15 countries and 25 US states.
He explained about “Baja 400” that this "historic third race of the Score, was planned in such a way that Ensenada will register an unprecedented economic spill and hotel occupancy for September."
Novelo said the race will have wide media coverage and will be broadcast live on Livestream via the Internet, while it will be aired on ABC Sports and ESPN television networks, representing Ensenada's promotion worldwide.
