Arctic Cat is a manufacturer of ATVs, 4-wheelers and snow-mobile in Thief River of case, Minnesota in the USA.
Arctic Cat is considered as strong competition to other ATV manufacturers such as Polaris, Yamaha and Honda. David Johnson, Edgar Hetteen and Allan Hetteen developed and built a machine for 1954, in order to be able to drive on snow. The company became admits as Polaris Industries. Edgar left the company in June 1960 and created those polar Manufacturing in Thief River of case. The company name was changed later in Arctic Enterprises. Arctic Enterprises still began with the production of Arctic Cat snowmobiles in the year 1960. Later Arctic Enterprises expanded by the purchase of boat manufacturers such as Spirit navy, Silver LINE, Larson, and Lund. Spirit navy produced the first Wetbike (a kind water motorcycle) in the year 1978. The snow-poor winter 1980 and the overproduction forced to drive Arctic down Enterprises the operational business and boat building-end subsidiaries to sell. 1981 announced Arctic Enterprises bankruptcy and adjusted 1982 production. 1984 were created a new company with the name Arctco, which took up the production of the Arctic Cat snow mobile again. Since 2003 the sales of ATVs exceeds snow-mobiles.
